Cerebral palsy (CP) is not a disease. It is a disorder that is caused by a brain injury before, during, or a few years after birth. It is an injury that causes the brain to not be able to control the muscles in the body properly. Due to brain damage, people with cerebral palsy can get seizures, motor dysfunctions, psychological dysfunctions, and emotional or behavioral disorders. A disease can be spread through the contact between two things, but cerebral palsy only happens within a person due to TBI.
