Example One:
Through the use of play, instructor can set up a workshop where students become consumers. For example, they can set up a fruit or vegetable shop where students are given a certain amount of income, having to decide what they want to buy before they shop through a grocery list (ties into literacy). These types of whole class activities can be done to consolidate learning after teaching content. |
Example Two
An unprompted practice referred to as I do it. We do it. You do it can be introduced and applied to the teaching of skills and strategies in which students perform a behavior such as sounding out a word. For example, if the instructor is using zoophonics for the first time, a phonics game in which a letter is attached to an animal sound. They first model the practice for their class, than do it together with the class and so on until they feel comfortable having the students do it independently.

Example Three
As a class, look at the three different types of sentences and each sentence structures relative function. Before getting into the lesson, activate prior knowledge by asking students to identify the three different sentence structures. More instruction can be spent on either compound, simple, or complex sentences depending on the class's understanding. For each type set a lesson objective such as investing how simple sentences can be used in a variety of ways to elaborate, extend, and explain ideas.
